The word “servant” is one of those words we read, but don’t fully understand. Saying I’m God’s servant sounds cute and spiritual, but as I read Joshua 1:1-9, being a servant of God requires much sacrifice and a continuous act of conforming our will and plans to God’s will and plans.
Matthew Henry describes “servants of God” as being free to act within the bounds of God’s will, (1 Peter 2:16).
This is what we (you, me, us) struggle to wrap our minds around.
In Joshua 1:1-9, God tells Joshua and Believers what we must do to conform our wills with God’s will.
Some thing for us (you and me) to think about and meditate on.
