Topic: Faith/Rehab the Woman
Today, we are jumping to Joshua 2:1-7, where Rehab the Harlot according to the Book of Joshua, is a woman who lived in Jericho in the Promised Land and assisted the Israelites in capturing the city by hiding two men who had been sent to survey the city prior to their attack. Rehab is saved when Jericho is destroyed, marries a son of Judah, they have a son named Boaz and she becomes a descendent of Jesus. In the New Testament, she is an example of a saint who lived by faith and considered righteous for her works.
What I find interesting is that even though Rehab was no longer a harlot, found God, repented, started a new business, was a new person and was faithful, so much so to risk her own life for two strangers, and yet she is continually introduced by her past and what she use to do.
I’m certain people still judged her character based on her previous profession and I’m going to assume there were days when her past got the best of her. But yet she persevered by faith.
Today’s lesson on faith is refreshing.
We all have past, some worst than others, but we all have the same opportunity for salvation in believing in God and the Good Nees of Jesus Christ.
Rehab like Noah didn’t just talk about her faith, she was active in her faith by being a part of God’s plans for all Believers.
More tomorrow.
