Series: Black Women/What I Never Told You – Resilience
I started writing this post at 7am today and just finished. I think I wrote it at least seven different times. I would get agitated thinking about the stupidity and racism and gender bias, then erase what I had, then start over with a new perspective.
So here is what took me all day to write:
Resilience and prayer, you are gonna need some. Black people put up with a lot of mess. You need thick skin and resilience to deal with the many stupid systems, policies and biases designed to keep a race undereducated, broke, homeless, discouraged, stressed out and sick.
That’s pretty much it in three sentences.
