This is for me, but you can get some too.

When you have a great idea, start a business or program, even a calling to a ministry, mission or your purpose, you may initially think that friends and family will always be there to support and encourage you.

Not so.

You may be tempted to be agitated, even mad, don’t be, it’s not their responsibility. It’s yours to carry, to pray over, to cry for, to plan and prepare for.

It’s nice to have people around, but really when you are all alone at 5:00am thinking, can I really do this? how can I do this? – it’s all about you and God anyway.

This morning, I was thinking about how each opportunity to elevate the message of purpose was bigger and scarier than the last. With each opportunity, I had to learn to encourage myself and lean on God. This morning, as I embrace new opportunities, I’m reminded of one of my favorite Bible Scriptutres, Proverbs: 3:5-6.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
