After studying Ezekiel 16:44-59 this morning, I looked back at last week and even last night and see where I messed up. So this is for me, but you are welcome to get some too.
This is where we mess up: It’s those things we allow in our lives – a little here, a little there.
Gradually, the space for God gets smaller and there is less room for understanding, honest conversation, respect, reconciliation, forgiveness, purpose, progress, peace, mercy, joy righteousness, faith, compassion, empathy, friendship, emotional healing – love.
Gradually, we look up and discover that we have filled our space (experience, situation, challenge, struggle, test) with pride in pursuit of being our own God. This is the ruin of our lives – leaving no space for God.
