We have all heard the Biblical scripture Roman 12:12 which says:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

This scripture commands a few things of the Believer:

1. Do not be conformed to this world

2. Be transformed by the renewal of your mind

3. Discern what is the will of God

4. Discern what is good, acceptable and perfect

This scripture also tells us something:

1. That we will be tested (over and over) so that we will be able to discern (perceive) God’s will and what is good, acceptable and perfect.

A key point in Romans 12:2 is RENEWAL OF YOUR MIND.

In renewing your mind, you are making a commitment to be holy, to be like God. As His Child, you should be a reflection of Him.

So how do I start renewing my mind?

You have already started if you have entered into a relationship with God. You have already started when you accepted Gods’ love and forgiveness and have offered what you received to others.

But, here is where people fall off.

Renewing of your mind does not happen instantaneously – you have to want it to happen.

And renewing of the mind doesn’t happen once and you are done – it is a daily commitment of change and control in how you think, speak, behave, relate and value yourself and relate and value others.

In renewing your mind, you will learn more about God and your weaknesses. The more you know about God, the more you will love Him. You will learn that you don’t control anything, that He controls all. He is faithful and you can depend on Him for love, strength and to provide your needs and wants. In renewing your mind, you will fall in love with God and desire to do HIS WILL instead of your own.

In renewing your mind, you are in essence asking God to make you over so that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

He said TRUST HIM and I will.
